Sea Horse
Note the distinct line of depigmentation involving the tail. This is a
common
presentation in seahorses with a variety of illnesses. Metabolic
derangements
may alter chromophobe pigmentation in the skin. The seahorse in the
photo is
one of several that presented with this pattern of depigmentation, and
these
particular animals had bacterial thromboemboli in the ventral tail vein.
